Retrofitting SUDS: From Design to Delivery
On Thursday 12th September 2019 over 70 delegates attended the Allia Future Business Centre, Peterborough United Football Club, UK for a day of informative presentations, a walking site visit and opportunity for networking drinks.
Retrofitting sustainable drainage solutions into urban environments requires innovative design and supportive policies.
Having delivered pilot projects in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK, partners in the Water Resilient Cities initiative hosted the last planned event in a series of high-quality conferences focused on highlighting the lessons learnt and looking to the future of retrofitting SUDs to help revitalise and encourage inward investment into urban environments.
This event was designed for those with an interest in SUDS such as businesses, planners, designers and policy makers.
As part of the programme Peterborough City Council, Anglian Water, WYG and GreenBlue Urban presented the demonstrator site for Arborflow SUDS Tree Pit innovations on Fletton Quays, discussing all aspects of their implementation from design to modelling and delivery. and conducting a site visit.
The conference culminated in the announcement of the first SUDS Awards that celebrate the efforts and ingenuity of those delivering water management in urban environments in Belgium, France, the Netherlands and the UK.
